There seems to be some kind of bug when new users try and install the VMP on Firefox on the new Leopard OS. It gets caught in an infinite loop resetting the page. It pretty much crashes the page. Does anyone know anything about this one?

I'm going to post a linked video clip showing details:

We actually have a potential client trying to view our content right now and ran into this bug, so hopefully this is an easy fix.

A sample of my calling code is here. and I am using the latest MTSInterface 5.0.2.29

-Thanks!

Thank you for your concern. We are aware of the issue and will be fixing the problem with the MTS3Interface. Please look for a release in the near future on Developer Central

Thank you for your time on this matter, however, since we are developing a bit of material using Enliven and many of our customers are Mac based we are in a difficult position where clients are asking why our products (Enliven) are not working.

The responsibility has in turn been placed on me to be able to give both my CEO and the clients an answer as to when our product is going to be up and running. So short of begging and with all seriousness can I get an idea of when this is going to be fixed so I can get some answers out?

I'm also willing to beta test any changes you have just let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

-Thanks much for your help!

My apologies for not investigating this matter further. There is a known issue that looks like the same matter using the new 3.0 Safari on PC.

After trying to reproduce the looping issue on OSX 10.5 using Firefox 2.0.0.13, I was unable to repeat the problem you encountered.

The content link you provided is not setup to point to the mts3interface, so I used other content to do my testing.

Are you still having the same problem on OSX 10.5 in Firefox and does it reproduce with Safari? Please try this link and let me know if this loops on your OSX 10.5 NE Installer

Other useful information might help to determine the problem would be to search for Viewpoint on the computer and send me a list of files found.

I tried your link and it is doing the exact same thing. It gets caught in an infinite loop. If you click on the back button in Safari it will stop but it still seems to fail to install the plugin in either Safari or Firefox browsers.

We're under the impression that is clearly some kind of problem with integration into the new Leopard OS.

Let me know if I can help...

EnlivenQA, any word on this issue yet or something I can do to help? We really need to give our client some kind of definite response soon.

-Thanks!

cctman,

My apologies for not responding sooner. I have been trying to reproduce the initial issue on Leopard using the FF browser and have not been able to reproduce the problem. Can you tell me if any Viewpoint components are installed on the mac you are using and what version it is if any? You can find the components by searching from the finder for 'Viewpoint'.
We currently to do support 10.5 OSX so it will be several months before it is supported with a new release of the VMP.

I am also experiencing problems on a mac with firefox.
I was having problems with safari but I found an older version of the VMP that works with safari, so i'm using that, but firefox still doesn't work. I have downloaded and installed the vmp.dmg about 5 times with no changes in my results. I found a plug-in file called VMP Min 3.2.1.25 which helped with safari but didn't do anything for firefox.
