I'm having trouble reducing the shininess of materials. I see that the SpecCoeff property is not supported.

I've tried changing the rgb values for the specular color but this either has no effect or an effect so small that its unnoticable.

Is there something else I might try?
The object I'm using was exported from 3d Studio - I set the Specular Level and Glossiness to 0 in the material editor before exporting to ASE but still the object looks like metal in the VMP.

There has to be a way to get a matte finish on an object with bump maps!

I tried using a light map for the object but it doesn't seem to have any effect. I'm using MTSImageStream to load an image into a texture map. There is an "MTSTextureMap Type=Light" inside the MTSMaterial tag for the object. When I change the type from "Light" to "Diffuse" I see the loaded image on the object. The image itself is a 256x256 jpeg of plain 126 grey.
Still looks like metal.
