Hi, currently I'm trying to create some kind of installation FAQ for my customers for the VMP. Because many of them are working in greater companies with very restricted internet setups I'm looking for the minimal requirement of system settings for the VMP (e.g. the security settings, activeX activation, and so on).
Does anyone know what are the exactly needed security settings in IE and so on for using the VMP?
Thank you in advance

Chris

Hello Chris,

Here are the minimum system requirements:
http://developer.viewpoint.com/dc/vmp_system_reqs.shtml

As far as minimum security settings, you do not have to worry about the VMP being affected by the EOLAS dispute because the VMP is instatiated through a javascript tag. Also, popup blockers should have no effect for the installation process as long as you use the most recent MTS3Interface.js file (http://developer.viewpoint.com/dc/software/mts3interface.zip) (instructions: http://developer.viewpoint.com/dc/features/mts5/index.html). Because the latest MTS3Interface.js uses an iframe installation window instead of a popup. Other than that, I would just recommend setting IE's security to "Medium", making sure the VET mime types (.mtz, .mtx, .mzv, .mts) are registered on your server, and you should be fine. Let me know if you require more info.

Regards
