Looking at our server´s log files, I discovered that there are quite a few requests for a file named "softupdate.class", causing those beloved 404-errors ("file not found"). It seems that only netscape requests that file, and it is supposed to be in a "/netscape" subfolder. I am quite sure, I didn´t link anything into this subfolder (actually, I never created or used such a folder). What´s quite odd - everything seems to work quite fine, without the "softupdate.class" file. Could you tell me what this file does? And where the link to that file comes from?
Thanks - Sascha

Hi Sascha,

We do not call softupdate.class at all.

Cheers, Andrew

Sascha,

Have you added .mtz, .mts, & .mtx as MIME types to your server? If not, add them and see if this corrects the error. The trigger.js file references the mtx MIME type and may be what is causing the 404 errors in your logs.

Wahoo

Hi,
I think it is a file needed to trigger Netscape Softpudate (see status line "Java started..." when scene loads, in Netscape or in the jar file used to install plugins.
