When using the option to change the AOL Desktop Theme, I keep receiving the AOL Error message "We're Sorry, this feature is unavailable because the Viewpoint Media player is disabled or not". I know that Viewpoint is in fact enabled. Nothing I have tried has worked. Will you please help me? Stan

Hi Stan,

Thanks for the feedback. We will look into this further to see if we can determine the cause. Quick question for you - did you by any chance participate in our beta for 3.0.12?

Cheers, Andrew

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for responding to my question. Your help will be greatly appreciated. In answer to your question, NO I wasn't a participant in your beta 3.0.12. I wish I had been. Thanks again!!

Stan

Hi Stan,

Most likely, you did not close ALL programs when you went to reinstall the player. You need to close the programs running in the "background" or "system tray". You can tell if you have programs running in the system tray by looking at your task bar area in the LOWER RIGHT HAND part of your screen. If there are icons there, such as AIM or Real Player, then you have not closed all applications. To close these, RIGHT CLICK on the icon in your right hand corner and select EXIT. If you have AIM running in the background, it will not install.

If you are not sure of where the system tray is located, please look at the pictures on this page:
http://www.viewpoint.com/developerzone/aol8/index.html.

You also have to download the player from the link below and NOT the current Viewpoint Media Player public version. Here is the link; do not use a different installer:
https://components.viewpoint.com/MTSInstallers/VMPAOLInstall_3_0_11_120.exe

If you have followed these instructions to the letter and it still has not worked, please write me directly at qa-support@viewpoint.com. Please include a telephone number where we can contact you.
