I was just trying to setup a page at geocities and encountered problems trying to upload .mtx, .mts or .mtz files. I discovered the reason in this page:
http://geocities.yahoo.com/main/info/system/filetypes.html They're not supported file formats. I put in a request for them to be added but knowing Yahoo! I don't expect it to happen this year. Perhaps someone can contact the top 10 free homepage providers like geocities and get them to allow these files. It may seem relatively unimportant (i.e. non revenue-earning) but this is a way that helped Flash become very quickly ubiquitous and certainly helps player downloads. -Derek |

Hi,
I have not used geocities or hosts like this. Can you use .htaccess files? If yes, you can use this files to acchieve what you're trying to do. The line you need to put into your .htacces file is AddType application/metastream This should work on the most common used webservers. (If they allow you do such stuff). But ithink it's worth while trying. mayo |
