I have created a demo disc with links to the manual installer files on disc. When I click them to install either on my own system (to reinstall) or on other test systems, it seems to do it's self extracting routine, then I click through the contract and 'next' installintion routine. And finally, the window just closes, no confirmation, no spinning cube, nothing. When I go to a viewpoint enhanced page, it acts as if no plugin is installed. What's going on here? What should I be seeing that will let me know if the plugin successfully installed? When I install from the web, I get to see the colorful status bars as each component is downloaded and installed. Nothing happens for the manual installer, and I don't think that it has yet succeeded. Thanks for any help!

Kevin,
The installer is probably not working for one of two reasons: 1. you are logged in as a user wtih no administrative rights, in which case you simply need to log in as Administrator; 2. you have gotten a corrupted or incomplete installer. Please download the FullInstall.exe if that is the case. Other than that, it's hard to say without having more details. What platform and OS are you using- MAC, PC, Wind 98, XP, etc...? What browser are you using? IE, 5.5., NN 4.7, ...? Also, you should download Viewpoint's Control Panel for such a situation. That will tell you exactly what components are installed on your machine. ~Chris |

By the way, the features you are not seeing- spinning cube, progress bars, etc., are not part of the manual installer. They are uinique to the autoinstaller.
