Hi Rapidograf,

We recommend using one of two options:

1. Export as an ASE file and import into Viewpoint format using Viewpoint Scene Builder

2. Use a 3rd party file translation application, such as Okino's PolyTrans or Right Hemisphere's Deep Exploration.

Cheers, Andrew

hi Rapidio
If you export as an ASE file and import into SceneBuilder, to publish the scene (resulting in the *.mtx, *.mts, and html)
then you will also keep your animations intact.

oh rapid
Polytrans and Deep Exploration are two other applications for publishing Viewpoint scenes and experiences. You might end up even paying for them....

SceneBuilder is a free application to download from Viewpoint. It runs on Windows. I found that the only way to really use the applicatation is to read the documentation. Although SceneBuilder has a goofy UI, it has nice depth and rather solid performance.

I've taken a 3DS MAX model and collection of animations of the model and imported into SceneBuilder as an ASE. After a couple of minor tweaks, the scene was then published out of SceneBuilder. Publishing from SceneBuilder results in a specific set of files to be created....*.html (encasing the scene on a web page), *.mtx (fresh XML code to manage and manipulate the object[s]), *.mts (the media atoms or essence of the object[s] which are compressed into a cute math algorithm...to triangulate coordinates later Cool )
SceneBuilder is free, and a good taste of things to come. I haven't found a short cut to replace reading the documentation...rather a must in order to mix a wild brew of html, 3D, XML, JavaScript, 2D imagery, and more...

Google is your friend Big Grin

Polytrans etc.

Viewpoint tools - left-hand menu, Tools > Viewpoint Tools > then search for Scenebuilder. Bookmark the page, as Viewpoint is the most difficult site in the world to navigate, or find anything on Frown
