I'm using Viewpoint's TalkNow tool to compress wav files, and following all the reqs (8khz, 16-bit mono).
Here's the problem. As long as I'm working with actual speech, the .mts files turn out fundamentally fine (a little cloudy, but not the end of the world). As soon as I switch to music files, though, the .mts results are horrifying (even though the 8khz/16/mono wav sounds perfectly fine). Anybody have any clever work-arounds that might save my sanity on this one? Thanks. Ken |

Sorry but there's no tricks for music. If you compare the size of the WAV to the size of the TalkNow file you'll see that there's a dramatic difference. That's because there's intelligent compression going on made with the knowledge that the content is speech.
You can still use WAV and MP3 files with Viewpoint technology. The TalkNow feature was designed as a special additional component for speech, or simple sound effects. -Derek |
