Hey all, well first problem; When I export my 3DstudioMAX r3 file to viewpoint media, every seperate object is in a mess at the very center of the screen... my file is a robot, so you can imagine the jumbled mess of objects . I have been told I would have to completely redo all the links, which I have no intention of doing, so if that is the case ill just have to forget about it. Its kind of strange that our teacher never alerted us to the fact that objects obviously have to be linked in some special way for the viewpoint exporter to interpret them correctly...
Second problem; I have a transparent SWF file, with a television screen of which the robot is meant to appear in (under, on a seperate layer). Thing is, the viewpoint file wants to sit on top, no matter if I use a z-index on the object... however when I hilight the SWF, it appears all correct. The SWF is all vector. I have been told using a transparent PNG-32 image on top in the SWF instead of vector may fix the problem, but again, is something I dont want to do. Im pulling my hair out here, so any help would be appreciated!!! Thanks .
Have you had a look at this page on the Viewpoint site? It gives examples and sample codes for placing foreground and background animations with Flash. You may find something of help there.
Can't help with the 3dStudioMax problem, I'm afraid.

I kinda read into his note a need to put the texture onto an object. Runner's reference is a very good one. Flash on objects is where it's all at (IMHO) withing the Viewpoint Experience.
If you missed it, then please look at the other posting of your inqury for another perspective.
good luck! DavidR
