I notice that if I import a file that has a name starting with a number enliven puts a "_" at the beginning of it and if I try naming an animation with a number enliven gives me a message saying I can't do it. Could this possible change in the new version or is there a work around this now?

Hi Marvin,
I'm sure there's a workaround or simply a different way to do what you're trying to do. But without more info on what you're trying to do, I can't offer workaround suggestions. For now, suffice to say that the next release of Enliven will not be addressing this issue. Regards |

I have commands that are predefines and can not be changed because it would mean changing a whole database of information. Some of these commands start with numbers example "234f41" these commands need to trigger animations inside my scene. But since enliven doesn't allow me to use names that start with a number I'm trying to find out what if anything I can do to work around this.

Looks like it's just an enliven thing when I change the code to a number everything seams to work fine.

Yes. I figured it was just an Enliven thing and that it didn't make a difference in the mtx.

Currently there is no way to edit the mtx in enliven. This is something we have on our list of really big improvements...but it's a big one so it won't be out in next release.
As far as good editors for mtx, I use VIM (the PC version of the VI editor for unix. There's also a version available for MAC): http://www.vim.org/ ... It's an extremely powerful text editor because it uses both a traditional GUI as well as an older-school keyboard navigation scheme which lets you move really fast when you get used to it. Also, the amount of commands you can do with it to edit your text file is unbelievable. But if this is more involved than what you'd care to learn, I know alot of people who also use Ultra Edit and like it alot. But unlike VIM which is free, Ultra Edit costs: http://www.ultraedit.com/ |
