Hi Chris,
you sound like a crying baby who's toy is taken away from him.
Did your online portfolio deliver you any work the last three years? If yes, why complain about sharing a bit of credits for this with Viewpoint by paying them some money for all there intensive and wonderfull work, of wich you profited? If no, well, then probable your online portfolio is not good enough. You might as well finish it, since it doesn't bring you anything...

Jelmer, that was an extremely arrogant remark. Viewpoint used to give out free licenses specifically for educational use, now they don't.
All that says to any student who was just using the tools formerly provided, is that Viewpoint is seeing $$$ and would rather come across as a greedy corporation as opposed to realizing that not all students come from rich families.
I for one will not buy a license to any company that cannot realize that those who learn a program and then go to a firm and buy it are the real way to produce income.
Look at any 3D graphics program. Most of them offer demos for the sheer fact that if someone learns the program well enough, they will be able to show their firm that and the firm will most likely purchase said software.
It's just a return on investment, not a new business model. Viewpoint would do well to heed managers not out for a quick buck.

All Veiwpoint media/logos removed from portfolio website. It was nice while it lasted.
Boo Hoo! what is the rational in charging the same price for an annual license fee regardless of whether someone is licensing content commercially to paying clients or just using ZoomView on their website as an image zoom engine. I for one am crying because of all the content that I created for my own site that I now have to pay a grand a year just to view it without watermarks all over ....or rework all the images for a different zoom viewer. You're a pompous idiot by the way.
