Hi,
first I give my excuses for my bad English.
Then my problem: i'm not able to export an object from viewpoint
to Atmo.
Both if I create a simple primitive in view-buider or import from
Max 2 via a .ase file the result is the same: in atmo I import the new Viewpoint object (a .mtx files), I can see the icon of the new object in the variable tool window but, when I put it in the scene I see just a little Yellow square and no more.
Notice that I tried with Save mtx command, Save mts and publish,
default options, but the result is the same.
Where I'm in wrong? Many thanKs.

Sandro.
When you add a VET object to an atmosphere scene it seems to be shown in the wireframe view as just a bounding box (rectangle) with an anchor point. If it is selected it will be red with a yellow anchor visible otherwise white. It seems to take a while for the bounding box to get displayed though so be patient.
You will need to zoom in and move the actor position so that it is looking at your object... otherwise you won't see anything in the preview mode either.
BTW I just started using atmosphere again yesterday after 1 year gap. If you are an Italian speaker you can mail me barnaby@iprodotti.it to share experiences!

Thanks to all!
Now I can view my primitive created in Viewpoint.
The problem always is with a MAX object: I see it in Viewpoint but the same white dot and yellow square in Atmo.
I can move the actor, scale the object, change the view, but it always is there: a damned white dot!!!
Notice that my MAX release is an old one (2); may be too old for the last releases of Atmosphere and Viewpoint builders?

Hi June - is it a Max object as well? If so, I don't know anything about the problem. But for an ordinary Viewpoint object that you're importing into Atmosphere.......try clicking on it, have a look in player view, back to wireframe, scale it a bit, move it when you've scaled it. it will suddenly become visible properly in wireframe (not just a bounding box).

Thre hasn't been much problem with VPOs since the latest Atmosphere release, so just scale and move until something clicks into place Smile

Thanks runner , it is a Max object which i created in poser5.
I selected it and tried to make it bigger but the yellow icon with red dot are keep no change in shape in wireframe view . and i still got nothing in player view.
Weather i need to do some lighting and texture seeting in viewpoint before i import the Max object from scene build to atmosphere ?
One more thing is that i created a object in 3d max then i exported to mtx/mts, then i imported it in to atmosphere .the object was properly showing in the player view. But i tried to export the object in ASE and use viewpoint to convert it to mtx/mts, and imported to atmospher , then i got problem . it didnt show out in the playview.
sorry for the question , i am just a beginner of viewpoint . thanks a lot !

LOL, I've reached the limits of my expertise! Hopefully someone who uses Max will be able to help you.

Anyone?

If all else fails you can send me the MTS/MTX to daveya (at) utvinternet (dot) com and I'll see if I can get it to be visible in ATmo. Send all referenced textures as well!

Hi, I use Max for Atmos.

If you are using the old Atmosphere you may find it harder to view your models, (or not see them at all) Download the latest atmosphere release.

The only drawback with the new Atmosphere builder is I am crashing on resizing to very, very large sizes.

Also in Atmosphere builder check the url of the viewpoint object in the object inspector. Generally it shows your hard drive url instead of ./viewpoint.mtz which it should be. Make sure you change that.

Also like runner suggested. Once you have imported the object in, immediately check it in Player view, it helps expand the edges correctly. (Must do)

Go back into views side top and bottom. It still may be very small but click it once with the rescale tool. Then pull out the edges in top view and side view.

hth

Thanks to all the freinds.

I tried to import the viewpoint objects in atmosphere and just save it in .aer file . I can not saw it in builder player view, but it was shown out in Atmoshphere player . Just a little hard to posit the entry point and actor for the object, cz it can not be scaling bigger . but anyway it finally appeared . Smile

I don't quite understand what you mean, but once you click on the Viewpoint object with the scale tool, if you look at the Tool Inspector box you can specify a percentage increase - I find it's a lot easier to scale that way than by using the Scale tool and dragging.

Thank you !
Now i just creat a avatar in avatar lad and open the .aer file in builder , so I can get a very good default viwpoint position and i replace this avatarlab viewpoint object by using my poser viewpoint object, so i get the a perfect position for my poser viewpoint object too. Smile
