Viewpoint Scene Builder PDF page 26.. perhaps Viewpoint would consider rewriting the damn page, attending to omissions so that it can actually be followed by the beginner? Why assume prior knowledge?
The object is a wide band, like a cylinder without top and bottom faces. I'm trying to make it completely transparent at the top and opaque at the bottom. So no texture needed just the alpha channel, (a gradient) the template for which which was created in UV mapper for this object, and fits perfectly, but it seems only when dragged onto the object rather than applied via 'add OBJ'. I know Viewpoint Scene Builder requires UV coordinates and while UVmapper Classic exports a template but no *.mtl file, objects mapped in this way always appear in Viewpoint Scene Builder with their textures in all the right places. This object will be used in an Adobe Atmosphere world to simulate a haze line at the horizon. The OBJ and alpha map are in this file if anyone would be kind enough to take a look and advise me. http://www.hotplanet.fsnet.co.uk/haze.zip Thanks, I've messed about so long getting nowhere it's getting me a bit hot under the collar. If you have Atmosphere, (or it will auto install) here's the unfinished project, with a big nasty black and white surrounding. http://www.hotplanet.fsnet.co.uk/skyanim/skies_Launcher.htm Eddie |

Apologies URL correction.
http://www.hotplanet.fsnet.co.uk/skyanim/skies_Launcher.html (hmm, if he can't post an URL, can he read a manual!? :-/) Eddie BTW Some other worlds under construction start here (not much Viewpoint content.. yet.) http://www.hotplanet.fsnet.co.uk/habsva/habsva.htm [This message was edited by Fin on March 08, 2004 at 05:40 PM.] [This message was edited by Fin on March 08, 2004 at 05:41 PM.] |
