I have read through the Version 3.0.15 docs. but this was printed back in May 2004, over 2 years ago. I have also read the VMP 3.3 release notes: which date 2005.
I'm new to this type of app. and have done Flash work for several years. I'm wondering how much support for my older work if any for dynamic loading xml, web services, data binding controls, data integration for flash, and some of the duplicateMovieclip, AttachMovieclip, setDepth, etc; are supported within Enliven player.
Has there been any updates to stay inline with the newer Flash 8 player? Flash 9.0 is comingn out right around the corner as well which will support the actionscript 3.0 library.
You should also read over the Viewpoint Rich Media Authoring Guide located here. Though this was written before the release of Enliven, and it instructs from the standpoint of writing the xml (mtx) code by hand, the capabilities of the technology that it outlines still apply to content authored with enliven. It is essential for understanding what the technology can do ( I usually advise people to read this first and then the release notes).
OK, There does seem to be a bit of information in there. Thanks! My next question is really this. Like I mentioned above I have a lot of flash projects that were written in Flash 8 and Flash 2004 Pro.
When and will you guys support the newer Flash APIs? Some of the most important methods I need involve dynamically loading data and movieclips and the V2 components. So I really need the V2 components functioning.
You guys have a really coo! product however, you have to realize that no-one is really using Flash 5 for development anymore. We are about 3 versions up on this now. Flash 5 was written a few years back and is quite out dated. And though you can export into Flash 5 format from newer versions I don't even think I even own an older Flash 5 studio anymore not to mention authoring specifically for Flash 5 is quite difficult in something like Flash 8 studio.

As for Flash 8 support, we are currently working on support for Flash 8 but as of now we do not have clear idea of the release date but anticipate well before the end of the year.

Excellent! I wait with much anticipation...
By the way do you guys have or need beta developers for the fash intergration? I would be interesetd in helping if you guys have a need.
We will defintely be interested in beta testers when we're ready. It's too early right now, but check back closer to the release time I mentioned to inquire again.
Can we get an update on this area of development. I'm still interested in where this currently is sitting with Enliven. Of all the current tools to be developed with Enliven this is on the utmost top of our priority list with my company. I have at least 3 projects that we have been done in Flash 8 and I can't wait to port over once it is supported into Enliven.
