is it due to not implementation of setDate, setYear and setMonth commands ?

you are correct, the date object is not correctly implemented in this version of the Viewpoint flash player. new Date() will alway return now, regardless of the parameters. Unfortunately I do not know of a workaround for this beyond scripting out of the player (javasscript).
