I've finally been able to download stream tuning studio. After installing and attempting to activate, I received the following error
quote:
The dynamic link library rtg_coredll.dll could not be found in the specified path C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Stream Tuning Studio.
What would you like me to do? The STS is still installed on my system.

Respectfully,
Laura M. Benson

Couple of questions:

You downloaded STS 2.5.0.94 from developer.viewpoint.com, right?

Did you install it in default location?

Can you check that rtg_coredll.dll is indeed present at that location? There should be 38 .DLL files in "C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Stream Tuning Studio" directory, rtg_coredll.dll among them.

What is your your system configuration? (OS, memory, processor...)

This problem was never reported, something simple must be wrong...

Dear Baga ,
Thank you for your quick response!

QUESTION 1 Answer: Yes I downloaded this version. On two or three occassions, each attempt resulted in a corrupt file notice. Apparently one of these made an attempt at installing.

QUESTION 2 Answer: File was installed to the default location.

QUESTION 3 Answer: rtg_coredll.dll is not present. Only 18 files are installed!

QUESTION 4 Answer: My system configuration:
PC w/h 550 Mhz AMD processor
Approx. 1g Ram
OS Windows 2000 Pro
Dual 15 Gig HDs.
Notice: After posting message lastnight, attempted download again today, and I believe it was successful. File size matched that of file on STS download page and shows an execute symbol instead of a program symbol.
I won't attempt to install it until I hear from you.

Respectfully,
lauramb

Hi lauramb,
go ahead and try to run that installer that you believe was downloaded OK. Nothing suspicious about your configuration, so that must be corrupted file. I am a bit surprised though that corrupted installer didn't report any errors... If that doesn't work again, we'll think of something else.

Dear Baga,
Installation of new STS download was clean, no errors.
BTW. I do have a screen capture and I've found a separate error messsage related to the previous installation attempts. I'm just trying to figure out how to get them to you .

Here we go!

!. The screen capture one reads like this, this is where it locks up. "

Windows Installation Panel: Current File,...Copying file: C:\...\DCS720XDayComp.pf.

Err... "Corrupt installation file!" - that explains it - so it's just that download was not successfull. So i am not interested what other errors that produced...

You are saying: "Installation of new STS download was clean, no errors." - does it mean that it works for you now? I hope yes...

Yes Sir,
It starts up fine. I haven't worked with it yet because I'm still working out some details with some Poser figures. So, it's OK so far.

e_phoenix13,

Yes! I'm really into characters!
I've recently installed my new Poser5, and trying to get used to it. I'm so excited about it! I haven't even tried the VET export, yet.
I've already produced some talking animations with DAZs'"MIMIC 2.0". My characters animations can talk!!! I think it may integrate well with VET.
I still haven't figured out how to create a VET scene with a walking animation.
I've spent all day studying XML, and am going to add Python scripting to my studies, (Poser5 & trueSpace both support it).
I've also exported my first panoramas through Photoshop7 which were produced in POV-Ray v3.5.
"Viewpoint Reality" gives a whole new meaning to VR!
Thank you for your interest.
Respectfully,
lauramb
