I created a model of a house in Max with photographs mapped onto each of its outside walls. Then I load the .mtx into Stream Tuning Studio and load up the textures in the .mts... but when I merge two or more of the textures and save the files, those two textures simply disappear (leaving naked geometry behind) on my saved .mts file. There's still a lot of stuff I don't understand in Max, so I'm guessing my textures were not applied correctly in Max... did I forget to collapse before saving, etc.? Is there any other criteria to meet before I can merge textures successfully in Stream Tuning?
Also, does merging textures and re-saving the file create a new single texture in the .mts that the .mtx references? For example, say the textures of the 4 walls of my 3d house are called house_TEXTURE_0, house_TEXTURE_1, house_TEXTURE_2, and house_TEXTURE_3. If I merge house_TEXTURE_0 and house_TEXTURE_1 in Stream Tuning Studio, do those two become a single texture, like "house_TEXTURE_4"? I'm guessing their material values (house_MATERIAL_0, etc.) would stay the same, but that the _TEXTURE values would merge into one that could be later manipulated in the .mtx and .html. Thanks, any tips would be greatly appreciated. Barrett |
