Maybe your tmp7492.mts is not accessible, corrupt or in an old format (MTS2). Does the new version work with other files of yours? If what you are saying is a big problem for you don't hesitate to zip up and email your project to me, we will take a look.

P.S. Remember to always open MTX files in Stream Tuning Studio. Do not open MTS files there directly.

Hi cadman, meta Smile
I downloaded viewpoint stream tuning studio today and had the same problem as cadman. I exported from Max into scenebuilder, published to tuning studio. Opened up the .mtx and got the same errors as above. Couldn't save my file after compressing and calculate.
I tried tuning studio to see if I could get better compression than scene builder. Would you like me to send my file?

Hi - downloaded today and had the same problem. Whatever mtx/mts I load I get the same message aftre optimising and trying to save "cannot open the file \TMP7492.mts. The parameter is incorrect" (the TMP file name changes number). I've tried this on a range of simple and complex files created in avlabs/Scene Builder and Poser 4 Pro and always get the same error.I'm running W98 + 1.8GHz P4+ 256MB RAM.

Maybe the problem is thanks to Windows98 - we do support it, but since it is almost discontinued performing the quality assurance becomes more and more difficult on that OS. Most of the users of authoring tools are currently on Win2000 or XP.

We have the same problem, using Windows ME. Seems a shame its not been addressed as the first message on this problem was in April. The old version used to work fine and we have some files we need to optimise for a client today - is there any chance of putting a previous build online to download?

All the best,

Smithee

As we still haven't had an answer to thsi one you MIGHT be able to use a utility posted on the Atmosphere forum. This drastically reduces the mts files for Avatars and may be useful. It's called mtstakedown.exe and is written by Zilly/Ben jordan or both I'm not sure. I can't find the URL on the atmosphere post, but if you want to e-mail me I'll forward a copy. Stuart Forbes

Still having a problem with optimizing poser (and truespace, for that matter) files with new build of the stream tuning studio (build 2.5.0.92) When I try to calculate the new .mts file, or save it, I get the message "cannot open file TMP7492.mts;The parameter is incorrect."
I am using win me.
thanks for the help, dan

I've done some more fiddling, and I have found that stream tuning studio is giving me the "parameter is incorrect" message with all mtx/mts files, including the cellphone file that is included in the tutorial subfolder of the stream tuning studio program folder.
is it a windows me issue?

This indeed is OS problem. Although we do not officially support Win ME, problem will be addressed in the next build.

The 2.5.0.92 Beta version appears to have problems with Windows 98 and ME.

The previous version 2.5.0.86 is working on those OS. It is now available for downloading.

So is there to be a previous version made available or not? I need to use it and this version does not work with my operating system. 'Change it' is not immediately an option. Obviously many are affected by this problem.
